Saturday it all came together for us and for those who we serve; the people living with HIV, those who love them and the people who want to remain HIV negative. Much Love ALWAYS EVENT PHOTOS/WRAP UP Dancing with the Stars' Kym Herjavec 2017 Celebrity Honorary Trail Guide for the 12th Saddle UP LAOn Saturday, July 15, 2017 LIFE GROUP LA (www.lifegroupla.org) held their 12th Annual Saddle Up LA, a horse AIDS ride fundriser. This year Dancing with the Stars', Kym Herjavec (formerly Johnson), the two time USA Mirror Ball Trophy winner was Saddle Up LA's 2017 Celebrity Honorary Trail Guide! The horseback ride was held in the beautiful and majestic Griffith Park Mountains. The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness of the fact that the AIDS Pandemic is not over and to raise much needed funds for the HIV services provided by The Life Group LA. It is also an affirmation of the power of compassion and a demonstration that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things. Kym Herjavec, a Aussie native started learning the art of dance at the age of three. She went on to become the Australian Ballroom Champion and twice represented Australia in the ‘World 10’ dance championships. Kym appeared on the hit Australian TV show Dancing with the Stars, and won Season 2. In 2006, Kym moved to the United States and began competing on Dancing with the Stars USA. She has won the mirror ball trophy twice, once with Donny Osmond (2009) and again with Hines Ward (2011). In 2016, Kym’s released her first book, The 5678 Diet and in 2017 she opened her dance fitness studio The Bod by Kym (www.thebodybykym.com). Also in 2016, Kym married her former dance partner, Robert Herjavec (Shark Tank). The Life Group LA, founded in 2005, today still provides free of charge, much needed information and emotional support through medical forums, emotional support groups and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar. All services are offered in a non-judgmental and safe environment with compassion and understanding. Safety, respect and confidentiality are the cornerstones of our philosophy. We accomplish this by providing trained support group facilitators for our emotional support groups and our POZ Life Weekend Seminar.These facilitators have been trained in the art of active listening and conduct themselves with empathy and compassion. Life Group LA is a coalition of people dedicated to the education, empowerment and emotional support of persons both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS so that they may make informed choices and decisions regarding their healthcare and personal well being. For Immediate Release Life Group LA brings the POZ Life Weekend Seminar to Oahu, Hawaii in collaboration with Life Foundation Hawaii, November 4-6, 2016September, 28, 2016 – Oahu, Hawaii – Life Group LA collaborates with Life Foundation Hawaii to bring the ground breaking POZ Life Weekend Seminar to Oahu, Hawaii. With support from the Office of Minority Health Resource Center, Magic LLC, Janssen Therapeutics and Gilead Sciences, a team of highly trained Facilitators and Presenters who are leaders in the field of Wellness & HIV from the Life Group LA will be heading to Oahu, Hawaii on November 3rd to present the Island’s 1st POZ Life Weekend Retreat. The POZ Life Weekend will be held November 4-6, 2016 on North Shore, Oahu. Location will be provided at time of registration. Pre-Registration is required. The POZ Life Weekend Seminar is a place where compassion, education, community and love is offered unconditionally. There are no demographic boundaries. It's a place HIV+ men, women, and family members can come be themselves, feel comforted and supported in their effort to learn how to either live a long healthy productive POZitive lifestyle, or help someone they know and love overcome the fears associated with being HIV+. The diverse group of Presenters, Volunteers and Staff effectively reach out and relate to specific issues that can concern and equally diverse group of men, women, people of color, gay men and heterosexual HIV positive and negative individuals. For Immediate Release  11th Annual Saddle Up LAA hoof success!This past Saturday July 9th The Life Group LA (www.thelifegroupLA.org) held their yearly fundraiser Saddle Up LA an AIDS Benefit Horseback Trail Ride and Country BBQ (www.SaddleUpLA.org). The event in it’s 11th year was sold out! There were over 60 cowboys & cowgirls who rode horses though the beautiful hills of Glendale, CA and more than 125 attended the BBQ Cookout. The Country BBQ included Dinner, Dance, Live Performances and Silent Auction Entertainment and include performances by Pepper MaShay; Chico’s Angels; Mystery Mike Hennessey, LA Wranglers and DJ Rick. The event raised nearly $70,000 which will fund the continuing work of local Los Angeles non-profit, Life Group LA and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar which offers much needed information and emotional support through medical forums, emotional support groups for those who infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Life Group LA is delighted to announce it has once again received a grant from the Food For All Program of Gelson’s Super Markets. Life Group LA will use these funds to provide snacks, beverages and meals during our 2014 POZ Life Weekend Seminars as well as enhance the Nutritional Information provided during the weekends for People Living with HIV or AIDS. “It’s such a priviledge to have received this support from the Gelson’s Food for All Program for the 3rd year! These funds help us significantly in being able to provide healthy snacks and lunches as well as nutritional information for our weekend participants.” Says Sunnie Rose, Life Group’s Executive Director. Food For All is a 501(c)(3) non-profit marketing organization that raises money for domestic and international charities through retail point-of-purchase (P.O.P.) programs. 30th Annual AIDS Walk LA a Fundraising Success!Dear Friends, Colleagues and Family! This total does not count all the handfuls of checks you all dropped off Sunday morning at check in AND…….. This makes us the #2 Top Fundraising Community Coalition Team (out of 22) and the #8 OVERALL Top fundraising team of more than 300 teams! I call that a HUGE Success!
